HMS Javelin was a J-class destroyer of the Royal Navy that served during World War II. She was launched on July 21, 1938 and commissioned on April 5, 1939.
During the war, HMS Javelin participated in several important operations, including the Dunkirk evacuation in 1940, the Battle of the Atlantic, and the Arctic Convoy missions to support the Soviet Union.
In December 1940, HMS Javelin was involved in the sinking of the German battleship Scharnhorst during the Battle of North Cape.
After the war, HMS Javelin was decommissioned in 1946 and eventually scrapped in 1949. She received several battle honors for her service, including "Dunkirk 1940", "Norway 1940", and "Arctic 1941–45".
